EN/ I love Görlitz because it’s my hometown, because my roots are here and I see Görlitz as the center of a Garden of Eden. You have valleys, mountains, rivers, low mountain ranges, high mountain ranges, everything you can think of can be reached in 100 km. Everything is central, where everyone can get there. We have a lot of green spaces, a lot of trees, parks, etc. We are a city in the green. I can’t judge whether another city is like this, but that’s how I see it. And that’s what makes Görlitz for me, and I’m happy to be here.There is always something going on in Görlitz. I live in the old town where there’s a lot happening. I’ve always liked that. This is my element. Görlitz also has the very first roundabout that ever existed, on Brautwiesenplatz. Görlitz used to be a civil service town, and every house has a story. You can tell from every house that the wealthy once lived there.
DE/ Ich liebe Görlitz, weil es meine Heimatstadt ist, weil meine Wurzeln hier sind und ich sehe Görlitz als Mittelpunkt eines Garten Eden. Man hat hier Täler, Berge, Flüsse, Mittelgebirge, Hochgebirge, alles was man sich erdenken kann ist zu erreichen in 100 km. Ist alles zentral, wo jeder auch hinkommen kann. Wir haben sehr viele Grünanlagen, sehr viele Bäume, Parks, usw. Wir sind eine Stadt im Grün. Ob eine andere Stadt auch noch so ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen, aber so sehe ich das. Und das ist das, was für mich Görlitz ausmacht, wo ich mich freue, dass ich in Görlitz bin.
Es ist immer was los in Görlitz. Ich wohne in der Altstadt, wo viel los ist. Das hat mir immer gut gefallen. Das ist mein Element. Görlitz hat ja auch den allerersten Kreisverkehr, den es überhaupt gab, auf dem Brautwiesenplatz. Früher war Görlitz eine Beamtenstadt, jedes Haus hat eine Geschichte. An jedem Haus erkennt man, dass dort mal Wohlhabende gewohnt haben.
