DE/ I studied in Görlitz, met the man of my life and started a family – in the meantime I have found a choir where I can still learn a lot and sing demanding pieces, I have found friends who share my passion for the card game “Doppelkopf” and we live in a great housing community – here I am at home.
On my first visit to Görlitz, I felt like I was in a mini-Vienna. I was totally impressed by the historic old town and the impressive art nouveau neighborhoods. I find it exciting that you only have to cross a bridge to get to another country. But what I love most is that there are so many committed people here who help shape the city through children’s, youth, art and cultural projects.
When I worked in a hotel, I dealt with people from all over the world – I would be happy if this internationality or even interculturality were even more commonplace outside the old town. I went to school in Oldenburg-a bicycle city with a very large pedestrian zone-I still see room for improvement here in Görlitz, and I also hope for sustainable concepts for a good climate in the center, which of course also includes more green and less individual transport.
